Other Publishers...

Here are some other publishers, vanity publishers, who will publish anything you submit to them.  But be VERY careful.  And read their contract carefully.  In fact, have a lawyer look at it if you can.

The primary difference I can see between a vanity press and a subsidy press is that the subsidy press is selective in what they publish.  A vanity press will publish anything, if you pay them.  Many people lump together all presses who will publish your book for you as vanity presses, but I don't think that's a reality.  Of course, that's only my opinion and others will differ with me.  In fact, others have done so many time in the past!

Honey Locust Press is a "blended" press: we do regular commercial publishing, cooperative publishing (where we and the author share the financial risk) and subsidy publishing.  And we do turn down manuscripts.  I've been called all sorts of creative names because I won't publish someone or other's book.  They're free to go elsewhere.

The problem is, with one of those other names (those below) on your book, your chances of getting it into a regular bookstore are slim to none.  Don't believe it?  Go into any Barnes & Noble or Borders store and ask them if they will stock, or even order, a book from one of these companies.  They may special order it, if you will pay for it in advance.
